I came to the crossroads a few years back where I had to make a decision to either go for the finest fleece possible regardless of patterns, etc., or try to breed for finer fleeces while keeping the spots, etc. <br /> I've decided to try to do both. I love kats and I know they are hard to screw up, but I don't want a whole flock of them, either. I've been reflecting recently on why I got into this breed in the first place, and one of the reasons was to enjoy the different colors. If 15 years from now I've got fine, spotted Shetlands it might have been worth the struggle. My spotted stuff certainly isn't my finest.
