What I am Working On

I really love the rolag idea.  My first attempt came out pretty much how I wanted.

Trying it again with these colors, will knit up into something to show the striping effect, and then will start production for the store.

Still working on Cora, she has a lot of pretty creamy white, so probably will get a skein of this and then maybe gradient.

Carding table still has a lot of Cora with some neck wool in the back.

And will be washing up Sybil's fleece today.

Rhinebeck weekend

Such a beautiful day for a fiber festival.  Which I am not at because once again my application to vend at Rhinebeck was rejected.  Feeling blue and unwanted.

I finished spinning Isobel's moorit fleece, now just need to wash and hang.  Also working on carding Cora which is really nice, carding up really easily.

Introducing - Hazel

Rich saw her at the WNY Fiber Festival and was smitten, so we now have a sweet fuzzy little angora bunny.  We named her Hazel, named after the boy bunny in Watership Down, but she is a girl.

She really likes clover

What I am working on 10/14

I've been out of town all week for work, so didn't get much done during the week.  Made progress on spinning Isobel before I left, here it is not washed yet.  Still have some to card, spin and ply.

Cora's fleece is dry now and ready to begin processing.  She is a fawn Kat so will be able to make a gradient skein from her, but she doesn't have a ton of darker.  Can't wait to see how it turns out!  Rich's new pet is in the background, will blog on her later.

I also have to organize and pack my fiber festival booth, this is it piled up in the basement.  Should be fun, I love organizing!

And here is neck wool I washed last Monday when I had Columbus Day off.  I think I'm going to try to make multicolor rolags on my blending board which I haven't used yet and spin them up to make self striping yarns.  If it works, that will be a new item in next year's booth.

Cora's Fleece - I'll be washing this today

WNY Fiber Festival

We had a vendor booth at the WNY Fiber Festival at Emery Park in Wales, NY two weeks ago.  Its a nice local show, Saturday only.  Reconnected with a lot of fiber friends, got inspired with new ideas and tried to stay cool.  Thanks to everyone who stopped for a chat to talk about soft shetland wool!
